Fitness, Personal Training & Classes

The Community Center has a run/walking track that extends into and around our gymnasium for those members wanting a place to run or walk when the weather outside does not allow for that. 

The Training Room is open now!  Located at 1608 10th Ave, The Training Room is an expansion and relocation of our existing fitness area.  State of the art equipment, 24 hour access, group fitness room, shower in each locker room, free towel service, and a Fitness Director that is is certified in nutrition and personal training.  The new Training Room has been outfitted with all new free weights, weight machines, a private group fitness class studio, & a wide variety of cardio equipment!  Many new accessories have been added as well to compliment any creative approach to a workout that you can imagine.  There are a total of 7 TV's to choose from if you want to use Bluetooth to pair and listen to one in particular while working out. Click on the Membership tab above to explore which membership option works for you!

 

The Center offers a wide range of fitness classes.  Check out our Schedule to see what we offer throughout the month.  Currently all fitness classes are held at The training Room EXCEPT for Spin classes which are still held at the Community Center under further notice.  We are also always looking for substitute instructors or possibilities of a new class to introduce to our program.  Please contact the Activities Director, Tara Gray at 308-254-7000 if you have any suggestions.

If you are looking for more of a personal workout, Melanie Klosky, our Fitness Director, is a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach that can help you achieve your goals. One on one sessions with her come free with your paid membership.  The Center has contact information for other qualified independent trainers as well. 

  Senior Citizens gather daily at the community center to enjoy exercising activities such as Stretch class, which is an hour filled with different stretching activities that limber the body and refresh the mind.  The Stretch class meets at 9:00am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

  The Community Center is also an approved Silver Sneakers Facility.  We offer the Muscular Strength and Range of Movement Class at 9:00am on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  If you are a Humana Medicare Policy owner you may qualify for a free membership to the Community Center.

  Along with our fitness classes, we have discounted memberships for senior citizens including a limited senior citizen membership for walkers.  If you are looking for more information on who is eligible, what plans are offered, where to find these fitness plans and more, go to:

  The Center is your one stop for all your senior needs - great inexpensive meals, a variety of exercise classes daily, senior cards 3 days a week, and year round activities,  plus just a great place to come and have a good cup of coffee!

Melanie Klosky recently relocated from Dillon, CO with her husband, Joe, and daughter, Sonya. She is originally a Sidney native and is thrilled to be back serving her hometown community. Melanie has worked extensively as a healthcare administrator and is excited to grow her skills in health and fitness. She enjoys a variety of activities including hiking, traveling, reading, art, music, and theater. Melanie also loves the fall season, a good cup of tea, cuddling her cats, and spending time with family and friends.
